The deputy Streets and Sanitation commissioner who oversees the city's snow command has been suspended for 25 days for allegedly having his employees perform personal errands.

The inspector general recommended that Bobby Richardson be fired for ordering workers to pick up and deliver cigars, have his personal car washed and keeping the vehicle filled with gas.

The inspector general said the abuses happened daily over several years.

Streets and Sanitation Commissioner Tom Byrne said that termination should be reserved for criminal conduct.
