Officers from Blue Island and South Holland were out searching near 130th and Doty Avenue on Chicago's Far South Side.
The Chicago Tribune reports they are searching for the body of 17-year-old Mariah Edwards who went missing last summer.
Police say 27-year-old Sonny Pierce admitted to beating and sexually assaulting Edwards.
Pierce has been charged with the murders of Kiara Windom and Kimika Coleman in nearby Blue Island back in 2009.
