It happened Saturday in the 12400-block of South State Street in the West Pullman neighborhood.
The child, Dominique Gilbert, was pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. Police say she and her grandmother were in a crosswalk when the vehicle ran them over.
Police say the driver did stop and stay on the scene. There was no word on possible charges.
