Gov. Pat Quinn leaves for China Friday to try and drum up business for Illinois.

He joined other political leaders Thursday night at the opening of a new Chicago charter school.

The governor will lead a 30-member delegation on the eight-day trade mission. His office says they'll all pay their own travel costs.

Quinn expects to sign export contracts and try to get more Chinese investment in Illinois.
