Street closures: 'Superman' film in Streeterville, Loop

On Friday, Chestnut will be blocked between Lake Shore Drive and Mies Van Der Rohe.

Dewitt Street will be closed between Pearson and Delaware.

Several streets near Daley Plaza will be closed on Saturday. Washington between Wells and Dearborn, Clark between Randolph and Madison and LaSalle between Randolph and Madison will all be shut down from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The downtown streets are just a few of several Chicago locations making an appearance in the movie "Man of Steel." The Chicago Board of Trade building doubles for the exterior of "The Daily planet" building. Interiors were shot inside Willis tower.

West suburban Plano stands in for Smallville, Clark Kent's home town.

A test Superman installment created about 550 jobs in Illinois during production that included turning the Kendall County city of Plano into the fictional town of Smallville, Clark Kent's hometown.

Filming began in Chicago nine days ago and is expected to last through the weekend.
