Guillermo Balingit, 36, of the 6000-block of West Byron, was charged with one count of misdemeanor battery.
The charges come after police say a 21-year-old woman reported that she was sexually assaulted inside her apartment by a deliveryman at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. She alleges her attacker was a Peapod driver who was delivering to her apartment. Peapod is an online grocery shopping delivery service.
The woman went to Mercy Hospital where police say she was in good condition.
Authorities who went looking for the driver found him at 16th and Wabash, where the delivery truck was located. Police say he was still in his work uniform.
Peapod's corporate office in Skokie has yet to comment.
