Evanston students win MIT competition

Two Evanston Township High School students have a reason to celebrate after winning a science competition at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, also known as MIT.

Julia Crowley-Farenga and Patrick Loftus won the region five Siemens competition in math, science and technology. They won in the team in the team category for a fundamental contribution to understanding galaxies.

The students suggest a link between the end of star formation in large galaxies and black holes.
