State representative Sara Feigenholtz is an adoptee and sponsored the measure. This law applies to people born after January 1, 1946. At a gathering Monday night, Feigenholtz explained why it's so important to adoptees.
"It means a lot to them to be able to peek at that first chapter of their life and answer some very significant questions about who they are," said Feigenholtz.
Feigenholtz will go to Springfield Tuesday to deliver the applications completed Monday night.
