The men were shot near 117th and Lowe in the city's Roseland community just before 7 p.m. Tuesday night.
Twenty-two-year-old Arvon Grays was shot in the head. He died at Stroger Hospital.
The other man is in critical condition with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
Police have made no arrests.
