ESPNChicago.com reports the Cubs have offered Dale Sveum the job. He is currently Milwaukee's hitting coach.
Back in 2004-2005, when Cubs president Theo Epstein was Boston's general manager, Sveum was the Red Sox third base coach.
Sveum interviewed with the Cubs back on November 7, then had another interview with Epstein and Cubs GM Jed Hoyer Tuesday night.
There's no official word yet from the Cubs on the reported offer to Sveum.
