Study: Android phones target of hackers

November 21, 2011 (CHICAGO)

The computer security firm McAfee says attacks on phones that run Google's Android operating system increased by nearly 37 percent during the third quarter of this year.

The attacks include text messages that attempt to gain personal information so hackers can steal money. Another records phone conversations so they can be monitored for personal information.

McAfee says it believes 2011 will be a record year for mobile phone attacks.
