Battle for 2nd in 'burger wars' heating up

December 22, 2011 (CHICAGO)

The Wall Street Journal reports McDonald's will keep its title as number one in the country.

However, Wendy's is expected to claim the number two by early next year, dropping Burger King into third.

Wendy's sales are expected to be $53 million higher than Burger King even though Burger King has more restaurants.

Overall, Americans will spend more than $175 billion at fast food restaurants this year.
