A northwest Indiana man was killed at a steel plant after he became wedged between two rail cars.

Investigators say Michael Shoemaker of Hobart was working at U.S. Steel's Gary Works complex on Monday night when he died.

A spokesman for the coroner says Shoemaker died from blunt force trauma.

The Indiana Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the incident.
