Scientists looked at 184 internet sites offering statins. Up to 96 percent of the sites didn't include information on adverse symptoms to watch out for.
Experts say the problem is less likely to happen in the US because high potency generic statins are available for cheap prices at big-box stores.
But, authors say, make sure the site requires a prescription and has a pharmacist available to answer questions.
