The man was first trapped in an elevator on the 21st floor of a building at 65 E. Monroe. After more than three hours, firefighters rescued him from an escape hatch and put him in an elevator in the next shaft.
But that elevator also got stuck.
One firefighter and the man then had to be rescued by another fireman.
