Teachers union to pitch solutions to improve CPS schools

February 16, 2012 (CHICAGO)

The CTU wants a reduction in class size, improved school facilities, fully funded education and more counselors, nurses, and social workers to help low-income kids.

Seventeen underperforming CPS schools are targeted for closure and turnaround.

The CTU said kids should receive education not based on zip code, family income or racial background.
