Spring fashion trends

February 18, 2012

Style expert Michele Horner came into our studio with several models to show us the latest spring fashions for men and women, and how to transition these outfits from winter to spring.

Look 1 - Colored Denim Trend
A good way to keep denim in your wardrobe for the season, but with a brighter spring look.
Neutralize the look with a light- or dark-colored top, depending on the color of the pants.
Ultra-skinny jeans look great with over-sized tops; throw a wrap/ shrug over it.

Look 2 - Prints for Men
Add floral, paisley and gingham to your dress shirts.
A man's ankles are like women's cleavage: show them off by pegging/ cropping your pants.
If it's too cold to wear your shirt by itself, throw a heavy navy/ black wool blazer over it.

Look 3 - Dark Floral
If it's too cold for dresses, put on a pair of thigh-high socks, and grab your trench coat to cover up.
Trenches are timeless and a must-have for any wardrobe.

Look 4 - Denim on denim or get the look of it
If you're not comfortable with matching a denim shirt with denim pants, you can get the look with pairing a blue button-up with a pair of dark jeans.
Throw a heavy cardigan over top, and it will break up the color palate.
