Bones found near a wooded area on Saturday in Gary, Ind., are not human as first believed.

The bones were found by a man walking Saturday night and originally believed to be that of a small child. An anthropologist determined they were not human on Monday, but officials have not identified what kind of bones they are.

On March 1, another set of bones was discovered by a Gary Water Department employee. Those are still under forensic study, officials said.
