CTA riders will soon see something that has been missing from commuter trains: ads for alcoholic beverages.

The CTA board has ended a 15-year ban. The ads for alcoholic beverages could bring an additional $3 million in revenue.

Under the transit agency's new guidelines, advertising for beer, wine and liquor will be allowed on CTA rail cars and at certain rail stations that are not located near schools. The ads won't be allowed on buses.
