Police chief to revise gang strategy after violent weekend

Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy says his department is revising its street gang strategy by trying to cut down the amount of violence on the city's street.

This past weekend there were 37 shooting incidents in the city. 46 people were shot and 9 were killed.

McCarthy blames street gangs for most of the violence. The department is working to gather and share intelligence on gangs in a more timely matter and is trying to prevent so-called "retaliation shootings."
