Don't just sit there -- your life may depend on it

Taking a seat can feel good on a person's feet but it may be bad for their overall health.

A study by Australian researchers claims patients who spent 11 hours a day seated were 40 percent more likely to die than those who sat for less than 4 hours a day.

The authors of the three-year study say it is not the sitting that cuts people life-expectancy, but they say their study sheds more light on the importance of frequent physical activity -- even just walking -- as opposed to a mostly sedentary lifestyle.
