Sibling rivalry is in full swing in a South Bend family. Sisters are gearing up for two big competitions.

Margaret and Caroline Peterson, 12 and 14, will take part in the National Spelling Bee and Geography Bee in Washington, D.C.

They are home schooled and their parents try to make sure they're exposed to all the subjects they'd learn in traditional classrooms.

Margaret first made the cut for the top spelling event when she was in fourth grade.

The girls are getting well prepared for the geography challenge. They read the Wall Street Journal and the Economist regularly.
