Ill. prisons to serve Sunday brunch to save money

The Illinois Department of Corrections has come up with a way it says will save the state about $2.5 million a year.

The department reportedly plans to start serving brunch Sundays instead of separate meals of breakfast and lunch.

The Chicago Tribune reports the corrections director says many inmates already skip breakfast Sunday, and that wastes food and the time of prison kitchen workers.
