Former Chicago Mayor Richard Daley was inducted into the Irish American Hall of Fame Saturday.

Daley is following in his father's footsteps, who got the same honor.

The former mayor did not attend the ceremony. Instead, his nephew was at the awards dinner and accepted his uncle's induction.

Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn was set to be the keynote speaker.

Sen. Robert Kennedy also was among this year's inductees, along with Aon founder and retired executive Patrick Ryan.
