New research is offering more incentive for overweight women to start shedding pounds.

Losing weight may help lower cancer risk.

According to a study in the journal Cancer Research losing even a small proportion of your overall body weight can significantly reduce inflammation in your body.

Both obesity and inflammation have been shown to be related to several types of cancer.

Researchers believe the inflammation damages tissues and organs and that damage could result in cancer development or the progression of existing cancer.
