Daycare center funding dries up, parents protest

Dozens of angry people rallied Friday night because daycare centers that take care of their children could be shut down, at least temporarily.

State funding that they normally received has dried up until June 30.

The protest took place outside of one South Holland daycare center. But the money problem is hurting families all over the state.

A bill to extend the funding for the daycare centers has been introduced in Springfield, according to Gov. Pat Quinn's office. There is no word on when it may be voted on though.
