Coffee good for heart -- in moderation

June 27, 2012

A new study by the American Heart Association suggests that two eight-ounce cups daily gives people an 11-percent lower risk of developing cardiac failure compared to those who don't drink any coffee.

Coffee may decrease the risk of diabetes, which in turn lowers the chance of heart failure.

Researchers say drinking four cups a day seems to weaken the protection, and five or more cups can be harmful.
