United will spend $13 million to install new passenger loading bridges that will allow passengers to board smaller regional aircraft directly instead of walking onto the tarmac.
There will also be operational and security upgrades to the baggage system at Concourse B in Terminal 1.
The TSA will pick up most of the cost.
