Chicken superbug, bladder infections may be linked

A superbug found in the chickens we eat may be linked to an infection in women.

Nearly all chickens raised for meat are fed antibiotics.

Medical researchers with McGill University say that has created a strain of E. coli that is highly resistant to antibiotics.

It seems that strain is causing painful and long lasting bladder infections in women.

The infections are difficult to fight and come back repeatedly. The poultry industry disputes the research.
