Zookeepers want animal lovers to vote for their favorite among four Swahili names:
- Hanisi, which means "born on Thursday";
- Akili, which means "clever";
- Kito, which means "jewel"; and
- Daktari, which means "doctor" or "healer."
Animal enthusiasts can vote at www.lpzoo.org/namethezebra now through Thursday, Aug. 30. The winning name will be announced on Aug. 31, on the zoo's Facebook page, a release from the zoo said.
