CPS gets more than $4 million for health programs

A federal grant is giving Chicago Public Schools some major help to improve the health and well-being of students.

CPS has received a $4.4 million federal grant to fund a comprehensive health education curriculum and education and outreach to families about the importance of smoke-free homes.

The grant also will fund a social-emotional learning curriculum to support and encourage students.
