Report: Thousands of kids die from preventable accidents

October 18, 2012

That's according to a report issued today by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The report also found that boys face nearly double the risk compared to girls and teenagers were more at risk than younger children excepting babies.

Traffic accidents contributed to 55 percent of the accidents followed by suffocation for infants and drowning.

Experts say decreasing the burden of injuries is a central challenge for public health in the U.S.
