Daylight savings should not disrupt sleep patterns

November 2, 2012

Sleep and neurology experts at Northwestern University say people should use daylight savings to re-evaluate and improve their sleep habits.

They say even with the extra hour of sleep coming Sunday morning, people should go to bed at the same time they always do and avoid sleeping later in the morning because consistency is important in forming proper sleep habits.

Other tips include making sure your bedroom is specifically for sleeping; avoid the distractions of electronic media near your bed, including e-mail or TV.
