Fifteen-year-old Logan Krugman is accused of taking his father's car and picking up Devon Meadows, also 15, and going for a joy ride with two other friends on October 23.
Investigators allege Krugman was speeding and lost control before crashing. Meadows was thrown from the vehicle and died.
Krugman is due back in court on December 3.
