Parade balloon handlers get practice run

Hundreds of volunteers practiced their balloon-handling skills on Saturday to prepare for the Thanksgiving Parade.

Odie from the Garfield comic strip was blown up early for this parade school practice session on the great lawn outside the Museum of Science and Industry.

It takes a lot of people to wrangle those floats on Thanksgiving Day.
