More teenage boys are using protein powders to build their muscles. A new study shows about one in three boys admit using the products.

Six percent of boys say they have used steroids. Two out of three changed their diet to increase muscle tone or size.

Among girls, about 21 percent said they used protein powders and shakes, and nearly 5 percent claims to have used steroids.

The research is published in the journal Pediatrics.
