Authorities say 48-year-old Shawn Stubblefield is a convicted felon with a lengthy arrest record.
He's charged with kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 13-year-old Chicago girl as she walked to school Monday in the Austin neighborhood.
He was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly tried to abduct a 16-year-old girl and a 13-year-old girl going to school in Oak Park. They both got away.
The Oak Park kidnapping attempts took place just minutes apart Wednesday on South Taylor and the 700-block of Home.
The students involved attend Oak Park-River Forest High School and Brooks Middle School.
Stubblefield was taken into custody in River Forest when police saw him driving erratically.
