Weight Watchers ad out after Jessica Simpson baby tweet

December 27, 2012 (NEW YORK)

The *weight* is over... "expect amazing!"

Jessica Simpson's new Weight Watchers ad is much like the one released last week, except with one big difference.

"Being healthy is part of who I am, which is great timing because i'm having another baby," she says in the ad.

The big announcement comes just one day after Simpson tweeted a not-so-subtle hint - a picture of her and fiance Eric Johnson's nearly 8-month-old Maxwell with the words 'big sis' written in the sand.

"Jessica lost 50 pounds the first time around, and now that she's pregnant again, if she gains all the weight again and loses another 50 pounds , you know, I definitely think it's going to show people, 'Hey, Weight Watchers really does work," said Jennifer Peros, Us Magazine.

Simpson, who covered her baby bump while on the beaches of Hawaii Wednesday, will continue to represent Weight Watchers as a brand ambassador, but the point-counting? That'll be put on hold until she gives birth.

Weight Watchers released a statement saying, "...Simpson will not be following the program during the pregnancy while her weight and well-being is monitored by her obstetrician... After she gives birth, Simpson and her doctor will decide when she should resume following the Weight Watchers program."

"This second pregnancy took Weight Watchers by surprise, definitely not something they were planning on, but Jessica Simpson is probably one of the most powerful names today. If anything, I think it's in their advantage and smart for them to keep her on board," Peros said.
