Chicago police have arrested a suspect wanted in a series of robberies on the city's South Side.

Police say they arrested Rondale Jett Thursday just minutes after he allegedly tried to rob a woman at gunpoint in the 6100-block of South Spaulding. A witness heard her call for help and flagged down police.

Jett is accused of robbing several women at gunpoint in recent weeks.

Jett faces several charges, including armed robbery. In bond court Saturday, a judge set bond at $750,000.

Police say he robbed women between December 23 and January 3.
