Family seeks records in Jenni Rivera air crash

LOS ANGELES

The family of Rivera's makeup artist, identified as Jacob Yebale, is seeking information on the aircraft's history.

Yebale was among the seven people killed when the aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff last month in Northern Mexico.

His relatives filed legal papers Wednesday in an Illinois court to compel Bombardier Aerospace and its Learjet division to identify all those who ever owned, operated, or repaired the Learjet 25.

The jet was built in 1969 and records show it sustained substantial damage in an accident in 2005 when it experienced a fuel system malfunction.

Rivera, 43, Yebale, and five others left Monterrey for Toluca at about 3:30 a.m. Dec. 9 following a concert. Air traffic controllers lost contact with the U.S.-registered Learjet 25 about 10 minutes after takeoff.
