Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel is adding his support for a new bill that would give undocumented immigrants a way to get driver's licenses.

Emanuel joined hundreds of Latino community leaders for the Three Kings Day celebration in Pilsen.

The bill would require all drivers in Illinois to be licensed and insured, and would allow undocumented immigrants to apply for temporary visitors drivers' licenses.

The mayor says that the bill is a necessary step forward for immigrants' rights.

The bill was approved by a bipartisan vote in the State Senate last month and is heading to the House Transportation Committee Monday.
