The music director for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra is battling the flu.

Ricardo Muti has had to withdraw from this week's CSO concerts at Symphony Center because of the illness.

The 71-year-old Muti will not be able to direct scheduled concerts Wednesday through Saturday.

Edo de Waart, music director of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, will fill in.
