The agencies are proposing new lane configurations for Madison St., Washington St., Canal St. and Clinton St.
The lanes will be color-coded and marked to distinguish between areas for buses, cars and bicycles.
The CTA’s planned bus rapid transit system will also use the lanes.
Crews will start construction in 2014.
