An 18-year-old has been charged in the fatal shooting and attempted robbery at a Tinley Park convenience store.

Police say Christopher Dyson of Markham allegedly tried to rob and then shot Thomas Mastro, 24, outside of a 7-Eleven store at 167th and Oak Park.

Dyson then allegedly drove away, leading police on a car chase that ended near 147th and Oak Park. Police believe Dyson then fled on foot.

After a manhunt, he was arrested near 134th and Ridgeland near Oak Forest, officials said.

Mastro was rushed to a hospital, where he died.

Dyson was scheduled to make an initial court appearance on Saturday.
