Police say they got a call about a theft in progress and found 57-year-old Karen Stryjewski at a home near Harlem and Ogden.
They say Stryjewski confessed to stealing the package and hiding it under a tarp in a driveway.
"The theft of packages off of porches is not uncommon. Thieves will follow delivery trucks around especially during the holiday season. They look to see where a package is delivered and then come back a short time later to steal it. In this case, Ms. Stryjewski was working on her own and there was no indication that she was part of a crew working the area," Riverside Police Chief Thomas Weiztel was quoted in a news release.
