FDA looks at reports of problems with robot surgery

A million-dollar robot named DaVinci is hot in operating rooms these days, but new reports of freak incidents and problems have the high-tech helper facing new scrutiny.

The Food and Drug Administration is looking into an increase in reported problems including deaths during these robotic surgeries. A medical device database lists dozens of problems and at least five deaths since early last year. The FDA is trying to figure out if there's a real connection with the robot.

The manufacturer disputes there's been a true increase in problems and says the rise reflects a change it made last year in the way it reports problems
