More Pace buses to drive on the shoulders of the Stevenson

April 30, 2013 (CHICAGO)

The transit agency says the pilot program, which started in November 2011, has exceeded expectations so 6 more buses will be added for rush hour, midday and late evening service.

That brings the total to 16 buses which run between Chicago and Plainfield.

The Illinois Department of Transportation say they are considering allowing buses on the shoulders of the Bishop Ford Freeway and the Edens Expressway but that move is years away.
