Student charged with stealing high school classmates' senior trip money

June 2, 2013 (CHICAGO)

Seniors at Alcott High School for the Humanities on the North Side were planning a short trip before their graduation. They say they designated KJuan Green to take charge but that he walked away with their collective $3,600, and they were not able to go.

Police confirmed Sunday that Green was facing seven counts of misdemeanor theft.

He was scheduled to appear in court July 10.

Meanwhile, ABC7 Chicago has learned the group of students could have an anonymous donor to help them go on the trip after all. A woman says she wants to sponsor them and is now in contact with the students.
