The latest bike corral has been installed in Andersonville in the 5200-block of North Clark Street.
It's part of the effort to attract two-wheeler traffic and show that businesses in the area are bike friendly.
"The bike corrals are packed. As soon as you put them down, they are full of bikes, and they're being turned over constantly. So one parking space for a car can hold 12 bikes, that's 12 customers for the local people who are shopping in these businesses," said Gabe Klein, CDOT commissioner.
The city plans to install more than 25 of the on-street parking corrals over the course of the summer.
Local chambers of commerce fund the installation of the corrals.
