"Safe Passage" signs are going up around the city of Chicago to mark routes where children make their way to and from schools.

The city and CPS have been working all summer to create Safe Passage routes for students affected by school closures who will be walking to new schools.

The city's working to hire 600 workers to help with safe passage once the CPS year starts next month.
